01 / What we do
Tulkas is an independent engineering company in Malta. We build software for a European-owned technology group working in security and law enforcement. Project by project, we design and build the systems this work depends on. The data is measured in terabytes and petabytes; the answers are expected in seconds.
Security is a first-class requirement in how we build. We treat it as part of the engineering from the start, not something added at the end.
The work carries weight. It protects people and keeps threats in check, and it strengthens Europe's ability to stand on its own. The technology is European-owned and answerable to European law. Malta has no shortage of engineering jobs, but not all of them leave something behind. This one does.
02 / Capabilities
The systems we work on are not public. The engineering behind them is familiar, and the outcomes are concrete: many sources fused into one live picture, months of material turned into hours of work, every result traceable to its origin.
Pipelines, streaming and storage for data that is large, sensitive and spread across sources and formats. Built to stay fast as it grows.
Web applications that put that data in front of analysts: search, maps, timelines and alerts that hold up under time pressure.
Language, document, audio and imagery models taken out of the notebook and into production, with the evaluation and monitoring to keep them honest.
Identity, access and auditability from the first commit, for systems that also run in restricted and disconnected environments.
